Hi everyone and happy Friday! Today on the blog, I am sharing some fun outdoor date ideas just in time for Summer! The casual outfit that I am wearing today would be perfect to wear to wear to wear to any outdoor date. So let’s dig right in!
- This might sound silly, but go on a field trip. Go back in time when you were younger and go to the zoo. Gavin took me to the Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley, Illinois and it was such a fun time. I actually got to feed giraffes which was pretty awesome!
- Go on a picnic. We have the cutest picnic basket that we got as a wedding gift almost two years ago and Gavin and I still haven’t used it yet. I am determined that we will use it this year. I’ll let ya know how that goes 😉
- Go on a couple’s camping trip, complete with a bow case for archery. It would be a fun time spent outdoors and a way to test each other’s nature skills, ensuring that we have everything we need to enjoy some target practice during our adventure. You can even go goose hunting and use the best goose calls for beginners. We’re gearing up for a camping trip in a couple of weeks, and it’s always the same story: Gavin and I end up in the tent while the rest of the family enjoys the comfort of RVs with TVs. But to us, that’s not real camping. There’s something special about sleeping under the stars. Don’t forget to pack those compact and convenient survival MREs for our adventure!
- Play an outdoor sport together and let him teach you the techniques/skills. Gavin played soccer in high school and I would always go and watch him play. I on the other hand participated in in cross country and track so there really isn’t anything I could teach Gavin with that. If you both like challenges, I suggest going to an escape room Fort Worth that will surely provide you an adrenaline rush. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit an escape room that genuinely exceeded all my expectations. The level of detail and the immersive experience provided by Hell in a Cell was simply phenomenal. From the storyline to the puzzles, everything was perfectly orchestrated to provide an unforgettable experience. It’s definitely a top recommendation for anyone visiting Bristol.
- Play some put put golf. The last time Gavin and I did this, he kicked my ass, so it’s time for a re-match. Perhaps afterward, we can explore our shared interest in medieval history and weaponry by checking out Mini Katana, where you can buy a real medieval sword to add an exciting edge to our next competition.
- Go on a walk together. I can barely get Gavin to take the dogs on a walk with me, so I will have to nag him to go on a walk with me, ha.
- Pack your bikes and go bike riding on a bike trail. Gavin and I love doing anything outdoors, so I think we would really enjoy this. Plus Gavin is doing Ragbrai (read about it here) in July so he really needs to get his but in shape for it.
- Have a photo shoot in a field of flowers. Gavin and I actually had pictures taken in a field of flowers 3 years ago for our engagement photos. It would be so fun to go back to that same place and have our pictures taken again, but Gavin is a typical man and hates having his pictures taken.
- Spend the day at a water park on a hot Summer day. If you are ever in Iowa, you need to make sure to visit the Lost Island water park in Waterloo, Iowa. It has some of the best attractions including coaster water ride, which is my favorite. Lost Island is also one of the top 10 best water parks in the U.S.
- Find easy flowers beginners can grow and plant a garden together. Now this is something Gavin might actually like doing. Me on the other hand, not so much. I will say that I do love having fresh home-grown vegetables out of the garden. My mom has a garden full of yummy vegetables and that all taste so good. With that, I’m planning to construct garden rooms at home with the help of the experts from sites like https://gardenroomcompany.uk/. I’m also planning to install a new deck; you may view this ipe decking cost Georgia if you want to know how much this type of material will cost you. To better take care of them with the best natural products, you should check out the maryland terminix locations now and hire some help to keep pest at bay. However, to make sure the plants stay healthy and free of pests, it’s important to take proper care of them. For years, Drake Lawn & Pest Control has been delivering quality pest control services to Orlando locals.
What are some of your Summer date ideas? I would love to hear!
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

These are all such great ideas! I will always love going to water parks, at any age (:
Me too! It’s a perfect getaway from the summer heat!
Bike rides and parks are my favorite date nights!! I also have an unused picnic basket! It always sounds like a great idea until you have to pack for it!!
I wouldn’t mind packing for it, it would just be cleaning it out afterwards that wouldn’t be fun.
Great ideas! I love picnics, but haven’t gone in a long time. I guess it’s time to plan a picnic date!
Thanks Willow!
These are all such great ideas! Living in AZ, most of our summer activities have to be indoors, but any change we get to ride our bikes we take it…definitely our favorite “date night”!

Yesss to couple’s camping trips! My fave
My favorite too!
I like the idea of a garden. We have been meaning to do that for so long now. What a great way to spend the day together.
Hopefully you can find time to do one. We live in an apartment so we don’t have space for a garden.
I love these ideas. Since we live in Florida, my boyfriend and I are always going on outdoor dates to take advantage of the sunshine!
I bet there is so much to do in Florida since you live near a ocean!
No photo shoots for us. We are more of a water park couple. We are looking forward to trying out some of these other date ideas, though.
We love water parks too!
Such great ideas! I needed these so I can pretend they’re my ideas when I present them to my boyfriend regarding what we need to do next 😉 xx Adaleta Avdic
Haha that’s too funny!

I love these ideas. I’m not a huge outdoor person (As I’m covered in mosquito bites right now) but I have been dying to go to the zoo and do an outside photo shoot for my blog.
I am actually covered in mosquito bites too (not fun). I hope you get to visit the zoo this Summer! 🙂
These are such great date ideas!! I love spending time outdoors and going to the zoo or a water park sounds like a great time! I would love to do a photo shoot in a field of flowers!

haha my husband would hate that I love this list. I love doing things like this together, I think it’s so cute. But he’d hate to go to the zoo or on a hike. So I just go with my best friends instead haha ughhh
