I am so excited excited to share my Cabo, Mexico travel recap with you all today! This was my first time in Mexico and also my first time traveling internationally. This was also Gavin and I’s honeymoon since we never got a chance to take one right after we got married.
Transportation
We took a flight from Cedar Rapids and then had a small layover in Chicago and then the 4 hour flight to Cabo. When we landed at the Cabo airport we went through customs, picked up our luggage and then got on our van to our resort. When we booked our trip through Cheap Caribbean, we had the option to take a large bus ($150 per person) or a small van ($35 per person) so we ended up taking the smaller van with other tourists that were staying at the same resort as us. The drive from the airport to our resort was about 40 minutes which wasn’t bad at all.
Where I Stayed
Gavin and I stayed at the Riu Santa Fe, and it’s one of the best resorts I have been to! We were greeted with delicious margaritas when we arrived and then had our luggage brought to our room for us. The service was amazing and everyone there was so welcoming. They even had entertainers during the day at the pool and at dinner. The resort is would make a great option for families, a romantic getaway, a girls’ trip, or even a destination wedding. The resort includes: 3 infinity pools (5 pools total) swim-up bars, 5 restaurants, a club and a spa & gym. Visit the AllWorld.com travel website to read reviews of hotels and restaurants and help you decide where to stay and eat in your destination city.
Favorite Restaurant Off Resort
Since we stayed at an all inclusive resort we didn’t want to eat off resort, but we did go to the marina and ate the Mango Cautiua. They by far had the best chips, and chicken and cheese quesadillas I have ever had! Our food was made quick, it was decently priced and you got to overlook the marina while you at. I definitely recommend this restaurant if have the time.
What To Do
We did the tour boat tour to see the arch and that was the only excursion we did while we were here, more than a boar was almost a yacht with many amenities, I fell in love with that boat. Just a tip when you are booking your excursions: if you book them online when you book your trip, you are going to pay double the amount. If you have someone advertising down by the pool, buy your excursion through them. They are way cheaper and they are going to be honest about it.
There are so many excursions you can do while you are in Cabo such as: hiking/bike trails, horseback riding, jet skiing, motor boat tours, parasailing, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, water-skiing, windsurfing, shopping and much more.
