Good morning, friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! I ended my weekend on a good note when I woke up to a couple of inches of snow on the ground (yay!) I usually hate the snow because I had driving in it, but this year I just really want it to stick around for Christmas! Did any of you get snow over the weekend where you live?
Last Thursday I attended an Iowa Fashion Show, “Sleigh The Runway.” It was held at the Doubletree by Hilton Cedar Rapids Convention Center. This was the first fashion show that has ever been held there and it was actually all done on two escalators which was so neat to watch. They had over 15 vendors and designers all based out of Iowa that showcased their fall/winter pieces. Before the show they had vendors set up and cocktail our where you could socialize with others and enjoy the music.
Since it was a holiday event, I wore my velvet dress from Forever 21 with some black tights, and my suede pumps. To complete the look, I wore some black tassel earrings and this sequin clutch.
Iowa is aiming to be a more fashion forward state like the southern and eastern states are and I am so glad that Simeon Talley has put so much time and work into these fashion shows to make them happen. Also, a big shout out to Gavin for going with me. Usually he doesn’t go to events with me, but I think he enjoyed going because he had a reason to wear a suite, haha.
It was so crowded at the show that I was unable to get very good photos of the show, so I apologize.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day! xx

This looks like it would have been a really good event. Did it help the Hospital with some funding? I always love it when one show does the work of two. Namely helping out a good cause at the same time using the showcase for people to become acquainted with a new brand. It’s a win-win situation.
